Hello! My name is Wendy Epstein. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker based out of New York City, and an alumni of The Fordham Graduate School of Social Work. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently using telemedicine for virtual sessions.
Therapy is a collaborative partnership built on trust, empathy, and honesty. I strive to create a warm, safe space for my clients to explore, grow, and develop confidence and trust in themselves. As a therapist, I focus on the person, not just the problem. My goal is to provide support and help you hone in on your resilience and resourcefulness, so you leave our sessions feeling empowered, centered, and in control.
I specialize in helping preteens, teens, and adults deal with anxiety, family conflict, and trauma and PTSD. We all have strengths that we can call on but it can be easy to overlook them in the face of adversity. I take an individualized, and goal-oriented approach. By utilizing CBT, psychodynamic theory and grounding techniques, I will help you explore your thoughts and feelings, uncover a deeper sense of purpose and improve your ability to be mindful and present.
Being vulnerable is scary, but you don’t have to tackle this alone. Let’s work together to help you replace negative thoughts, improve your mood, and ultimately live a happier, more satisfied life.
If you are interested in working together please email or call me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. Costs for therapy sessions are on a sliding scale, and can be paid with American Express, Mastercard, Visa Discover, or a Health Savings Account. I accept the following insurance plans: Aetna, Anthem, Beacon Health Options, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, BlueCross and BlueShield, Cigna and Evernorth, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Optum, Oscar Health, and Oxford.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
