Hi! My name is Taylor Lindskoog. Empowerment to me is finding the strength and confidence in yourself to embark on a life journey that is meaningful and authentic to you. Taking control of your own life – putting yourself first and prioritizing self-care. Being empowered is understanding you’re worthy of happiness and taking the steps to get there.
Every bump in the road is a learning opportunity. My philosophy is that you’re growing every day; You don’t take a step back, it’s just a pause. It’s about the journey, not the destination.
Sessions with me will be a safe, non-judgmental space where you will be heard and understood in a compassionate and empathetic way. We will work towards exploring your current struggles that brought you to counseling and strive to understand the root causes. Our goal is progress, not perfection; we are always moving forward even when we feel stuck.
My hope is that our sessions help you gain self-compassion and coping skills that will support positive mental health. Using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), we will work towards lasting change in your thoughts and behaviors while managing your motions and triggers in the present moment. For as long as I can remember I’ve been interested in helping others and hearing their stories. I was an ice skater for fifteen years and struggled with mental health, especially eating disorders, as they are very common in the sport. It saddened me to see so many wonderful people displaying such a low sense of self-worth, engaging in self-destructive behaviors, and experiencing severe emotional dysregulation. Being immersed in this environment fueled my growing passion of being there for others and encouraging positive change.
I chose my undergraduate degree in accounting based on my desire to have stability and a clear path. In other words, I was not confident in my abilities and thought it was the path of least resistance. I was naturally good at math and my dad was an accountant, so business seemed like the way to go. My family strongly supported this decision.
After graduating and beginning my full-time job, I had a realization that I should have enjoyed my college courses. Working in the field felt isolating, and every day I had a gnawing feeling that this wasn’t where I was supposed to be. I noticed that the highlight of my workday was listening to my co-workers talk about their personal lives and helping them find self-compassion when they were overwhelmed. I began looking up ways that I could work in the mental health field, and when I learned that I could go back to school for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I jumped on the opportunity. Every day I am grateful that I chose this path.
As your counselor, my hope is to help you find peace with yourself and work towards a meaningful life. I want to empower you to break out of the expectations placed upon you, by yourself and others. You have value, deserve to be heard and live in a way that brings you joy. I’m looking forward to being with you every step of the way as you embark on this journey!
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
