Hello There! My name is Sarah Spitz. I am a therapist in private practice as well as the co-founder and director of clinical operations for a group practice called Holistic Psychotherapy NYC. I believe in holistic healing and the power of connection and compassion. It is not enough to treat the issue without finding the root cause and by doing so, one can reconnect with old as well as new parts of themselves.
Through both my individual practice and my group practice I seek to empower individuals who are looking for a myriad of changes. These include looking to better understand themselves, cope effectively with various life stressors, navigate relationship issues, work on self-esteem, or want to integrate mental health into their overall wellness. I also specialize in working with individuals struggling with disordered eating and negative body image. My approach is psychodynamic, interpersonal, and relational. It is with experience that I know integrating personal connection into healing and self-growth is instrumental and life-changing.
I am also trained in EMDR and utilize mindfulness in my work. Not only that, but I also incorporate elements from my background as a holistic health coach and yoga teacher which further serve to push down subconscious barriers we are hardly even aware of. I know first-hand how important it is to feel centered, physically, within ones own body and by doing so, achieving a state of mental clarity as well. There has always been a strong link, which is easily overlooked, between the physical and the mental spirit. Because of my holistic education, I make sure to pay special attention to rekindling the spark between the mind and body in order for them to serve a symbiotic relationship within each person. Growth and personal development that stem from this link within us have a stronger foundation that one can use for the rest of their lives.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
