Hello! My name is Rob Walls, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker based out of New York City. I’ve been in practice for 3 years, and am a Fordham University alumni. I also received my Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, I am offering both in-person and virtual therapy sessions.
Everyone, regardless of their age, has the potential for significant growth and positive change. This deeply held belief forms the bedrock of both my professional and personal life. I approach my work from a place of empathy, humility, and attentiveness. Many people struggle with anxiety, self-doubts, unhelpful behaviors, and difficulties in their relationships. By working with the right therapist it allows you to create the necessary space to explore and address these struggles in a spirit of curiosity, non-judgment, and self-compassion.
I consider each therapeutic relationship to be a unique and collaborative experience. I make a point of allowing the work to unfold free of any preconceived notions, and utilize techniques from the theoretical traditions of psychodynamic, somatic, and attachment-oriented therapies.
When you are feeling overwhelmed, whether by sadness, workload, anger, or something else, it’s easy to feel cut off from the world, your loved ones, or even from yourself. Therapy can help you to develop a healthy relationship with yourself, and to regain a feeling of connection, joy, and engagement with the world around you.
The pandemic has affected different people in different ways but has surely challenged us all. Please don't wait to reach out for support. If you are interested in working together please email or call me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. I accept the EmblemHealth insurance plan, and out of network benefits are accepted with claims filed weekly on the client's behalf and reimbursement directly to the client.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
