Hello! My name is Peter Gradilone, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker based out of New York City. I have been in practice for 17 years, and am a Fordham University alumni. Currently I am doing phone and video sessions. Depending on the course of the pandemic, there may be office visits in the near future.
My most often repeated statement regarding clients is that I am looking for individuals who want to do the work. It is not only important for a client to only identify their needs, issues and goals, but to also move towards understanding why one's feelings are the way they are in the first place. There is a reductive element to therapy, where past history and patterns are discovered. The client can come to an understanding of how these dynamics continue to influence present day behavior. There is also the teleological aspect of therapy. Understanding one's self must then lead to finding out the future direction and decisions that lay ahead.
My primary specialty is Jungian and psychodynamic in approach. My therapy sessions offer the experience and opportunity to work with a client relationally in terms of addressing and understanding the root causes of their distress, as well as addressing the future potential of their lives.
We all have our basic humanity in common. This includes joy as well as the suffering that brings on to someone to seek refuge and understanding in the presence of another. I invite you to allow me to accompany you on your journey.
If you are interested in working together please email or call me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. Costs for each therapy session are on a sliding scale ranging from $160 - $250. I provide courtesy billing to insurance companies.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
