Hello! My name is Nick Goodness, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of New York City. I’ve been in practice for 7 Years, and received my Master of Science from Columbia University, and my Bachelors of Arts from Swarthmore College. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, I am currently meeting with clients via a secure streaming platform. Face-to-face sessions will resume at a later date.
Therapy is an opportunity for connection, understanding, and empathy. I meet every day with individuals who are overcoming worry, sadness, and depression to find greater joy and develop more fulfilling relationships. If you are finding it difficult to navigate close relationships, express difficult thoughts and feelings, or feel that you're not measuring up, I'm here to help.
I specialize in helping teens and adults deal with depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. My approach utilizes aspects of insight-oriented practice and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I strive to meet clients wherever they're at and on whatever issue they bring to the session. I approach clients from a warm, supportive and engaging place and endeavor to bring into the room the best parts of myself.
I encourage you to find a therapist you feel comfortable with. Please reach out to me if you think we might be a match. I'm happy to speak with you by phone or in-person about what treatment with me might look like.
If you are interested in working together please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. Costs for each therapy session are on a sliding scale ranging from $150 - $250, and can be paid with American Express, Visa, Discover, Mastercard, Cash, Check, Paypal, a Health Savings Account, or an ACH Bank transfer. I will work with most insurance plans that cover therapy.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
