Hello! My name is Lucas Saiter. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based out of New York City, and an alumni of New York University. Currently, I am offering both in-person and virtual therapy sessions.
My approach is characterized as collaborative, compassionate, and active, where individuals can find authenticity in themselves and make meaningful change in their life by recognizing patterns and finding a voice for themselves. My client focus ranges from LGBTQ+ individuals working on coming out, to immigrants adjusting to life in NYC, to adults dealing with anxiety, depression, identity issues, grief and bereavement, and relationship and intimacy concerns. I strive to continue enhancing LGBTQ+ Affirmative therapy, so I am also a therapist at the Psychotherapy Center for Gender and Sexuality at ICP.
I am also qualified to help individuals and couples with anger management, career counseling, codependency, coping skills, divorce, family conflict, life transitions, parenting, racial identity, self esteem, self-harming, sexual addiction, spirituality, suicidal ideation, and sleep or insomnia. I am trained to work with people of Hispanic and Latino ethnic background, those daignosed with HIV/AIDS, people in open/non-monogamous relationships, and sex workers.
I draw on psychodynamic, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to help people develop a more holistic sense of themselves so that they have more control over their lives. I am passionate about helping people gain awareness and become more authentic and agentic.
Through personalized therapy, I am dedicated to developing a working relationship with clients. I see therapy as an opportunity to work together to develop goals and create a more satisfying and flourishing life. I am bilingual and also offer therapy in Brazilian Portuguese, my native language.
Costs for each therapy session are on a sliding scale ranging from $200 - $275, and can be paid with American Express, Discover, Health Savings Account, Mastercard, Visa, Cash, Check, Wire, Paypal, or ACH Bank transfer.

Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
