Hello! My name is Kristin Anderson, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of New York City. I’ve been in practice for 7 Years, and am a Columbia University alumni. I am also certified by the National Association of Social Workers. Currently, I offer both in person therapy sessions and telehealth sessions.

I create a space for you to explore and learn new ways to cope with feelings of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and past traumas.
I offer a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to explore the issues coming up and learn new skills. We can work together to help you to better deal with the struggles you're facing, heal past wounds, and successfully shift the unfulfilling patterns and symptoms in your life.
I draw heavily from cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and psychodynamic techniques, with an emphasis on both practical tools as well as attention to deeper emotions. I also intertwine elements of other modalities including mindfulness & meditation techniques. I also am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
No matter the concern, I use an individualized approach to help you in the unique way you need. I’d love to discuss how I can be of service. I offer a free 30 minute phone consultation. so that you can explore what working together might look like and see if it feels like a good fit. Both weekday and Saturday appointments are available.
Costs for each session are on a sliding scale ranging from $150 - $250, and can be paid with American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Paypal, Visa, Cash, Check, ACH Bank Transfer, or a Health Savings Account.

Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.

We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
