Hello! My name is Jennie Bokser, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based out of New York City. I’m an alumni of CUNY College of Staten Island, and received my BA in Psychology and BS in Criminal Justice from SUNY College at Oneonta.
I work with individuals ages 18-32 who are struggling with racing thoughts, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed and relationship issues. I help clients disentangle their thoughts, learn to cope with their stressors, improve their self-esteem and make life transitions. Our work will teach you new coping skills, change your ways of thinking and relating to others, and resolve any past traumatic experiences that might be leaving you feeling stagnant, overwhelmed, or less connected to yourself or others.
My work combines a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy. I have experience and training working with anxiety, depression, panic and trauma, as well as identity, relationship and attachment issues. I identify as a queer clinician and practice from kink/BDSM positive, non-monogamous positive, and fat/body positive position.
Starting your therapeutic journey can feel vulnerable and difficult! My goal is to create a space for your vulnerability and to work collaboratively with you in making the most of our time together and in helping you achieve your goals. I’d love to connect and discuss what you’re looking for!
If you are interested in working together please feel free to call or email me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. Costs for each therapy session are on a sliding scale ranging from $200 - $220. I accept the following insurance plans: Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, BlueCross and BlueShield, BlueShield of Northeastern New York, Cigna and Evernorth, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, GHI, Highmark, BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, Optum, Oscar Health, Oxford, PHCS Network, UMR, and UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
