I am a clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and a Master of Arts in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. I then went on to earn a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Fordham University and completed my pre-doctoral internship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. I have trained in inpatient and forensic hospitals, community mental health clinics, and in a variety of medical settings (e.g., neuropsychology, primary care).
At Soffer & Associates in addition to providing psychotherapy, I am the co-director of psychological assessment. In my clinical practice, I take a flexible and highly individualized approach to each client and work tirelessly to create a warm and collaborative environment. I enjoy working with people from all different backgrounds, helping them to gain a better understanding of their emotional, cognitive, and behavioral strengths as well as areas of growth. When I am not working directly with clients, I serve as both a clinical supervisor to psychology trainees and as an adjunct faculty member at Fairfield University.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
