Hello! My name is Dr. Camilla Mager. I am a psychologist based out of New York City, and an alumni of The California Institute of Integral Studies.
The amount of energy you spend managing your food, your impulses, and your negative body image is unsustainable. It’s exhausting! Some days, finding something that you can tolerate wearing is virtually impossible. You end up with a crumpled pile of clothing on your bed – a mound of misery that will have to be dealt with when you get home tonight. Still, you can’t stop. No matter how miserable this is, no matter how many times you promise yourself that this is the last time – there is always another. Another meal you just can’t eat… Another binge you just can’t resist. Another weight you have to reach.
Therapy with an eating disorder specialist recognizes that an eating disorder is about the food... and it's also not. It's both the food and the feelings - and both need to be addressed. Therapy identifies dysfunctional thoughts and behaviors, explores how your relationships can promote health or illness, and gives you concrete tools to manifest change.
I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and groups dealing with eating disorders, impulse control disorders, and trauma and PTSD. I am also qualified to help teens, adults, and elders (65+) deal with ADHD, anxiety, chronic illness, divorce, family conflict, obesity, sexual abuse, and substance use.
A few therapies I utilize in my practice include: Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical (DBT), EMDR, feminist therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
The hard work of therapy will pay off by ridding you of the obsession with food and the torture of negative body image. You will finally be able to live the life you want, have more fulfilling relationships, pursue interests outside of food and weight. Call today for a complimentary 15 minute consultation.
Costs for each session are on a sliding scale going up to $360, and can be paid with Venmo or Zelle.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
