Dr. Avital Soep is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York. Avital received her doctorate in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Yeshiva University, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.
Prior to attending Ferkauf, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in psychology from Yeshiva University, Stern College for Women. Throughout her graduate training, Avital has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings, including schools, outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals, and private practice.
Dr. Soep is trained and experienced in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to target a wide range of presenting problems, including depression, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, ADHD, borderline personality disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder.
Avital is passionate about the implementation and dissemination of evidence-based interventions, making the highest quality of mental health care accessible for all. A primary goal of Dr. Soep is to help remove the stigma surrounding mental health care by introducing emotion-focused learning and skills-based work to children from a young age in an engaging and effective manner.
Avital strongly believes in the benefits of self-care, and when she is not practicing clinical psychology, she enjoys listening to country music, playing guitar, and spending time with her family.

Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
